Large records osaa kertoa tarkemmin Dennisin taustoista: Any purveyor of fine Techno will recognize the name Dennis Ferrer immediately. In the early 1990s, Dennis formed Synewave Recordings with legendary producer Damon Wild and claimed his stake as one of the top Techno producers in New York. Dennis' Puerto Rican roots combined with his love for Philly Soul gave his techno productions a unique and soulful edge. A destined meeting in a music store with Kerri Chandler changed everything for Dennis; the trip to Kerri's studio combined with hearing Kerri DJ live in Boston was nothing short of a conversion. Dennis was hooked on soulful House music and willingly became the first Kerri Chandler protégé.
Dennis' productions can now be heard on labels such as Basic, Sfere, Metaphor, and Ibadan. His first project for Large Music, Soul Collectives Vol. 1, was widely received as one of the best records of 2000. The relationship between Dennis and Large is a strong one, so keep your ears to the ground for the next installment of Soul Collectives in 2001.
